Behind everything we do, there are people like you who make it happen. In order to provide the highest quality services possible, we depend on the commitment of a strong corps of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers help us accomplish our mission to empower, educate, and promote better health care choices for individuals and families at risk for and/or affected by health disparities. The services volunteers provide not only assist us in continuing our work, but maybe even more importantly, when a volunteer contributes his or her time and talent to our program, they touch a very special place in the hearts of our staff, patients, and the community. Their spirits inspire and motivate us in way that cannot be counted on any form or record.

As part of Empower "U", Inc. Community Health Center (EUCHC) commitment to provide a safe environment for our staff, patients, volunteers and visitors EUCHC has established a drug-free workplace policy. EUCHC strictly prohibits the illicit use, possession, sale, distribution, manufacture of controlled substance on the premises. Substances that are covered under this policy are alcohol, illegal drugs, inhalants, prescriptions and over the counter drugs. We ask that all staff, patients, volunteers and visitors adhere to our drug-free policy.

EUCHC screens our volunteers and require information regarding their criminal history. Please note that having a criminal history will not necessarily prohibit you from volunteering. Depending on the nature of the crime it may limit your volunteer opportunity. We realize that no one is perfect, and that people make mistakes.
